Industry Funding Schemes 2010/11 Annual Reports

The latest annual funding arrangements for grain and livestock producers to respond to priority pest and disease threats in 2011-12 have been determined.  

The Cattle IMC has determined producers continue to pay a 20 cent contribution on cattle/carcasses sold within the State in 2011-12, with the proceeds being used to fund surveillance programs for bovine Johne’s disease (BJD) and enzootic bovine leucosis (EBL).
The Sheep & Goats IMC has determined a 12 cent contribution on all sheep and goats/carcasses sold within the South West Land Division in 2011-12, in order to fund a program to control virulent footrot.
The Grains/Seed/Hay IMC has determined a 30 cent contribution on first sale of every tonne of grain and seed within the South West Land Division of WA in 2011-12, to fund continuing programs for the control of skeleton weed and the eradication of three-horned bedstraw. No contribution will apply to hay produced this financial year.

New Council Moves to Develop An Overarching Strategy - To Guide Future Biosecurity Investment Within WA

The new Biosecurity Council appointed under s48 of the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007, to advise the Hon. Minister for Agriculture and Food, has begun work on the development of an overarching Strategy to guide future Biosecurity investment within WA.
